Inclement Weather

In inclement weather, the university may cancel classes.
Class cancellations will be announced through:

  • This website
  • Radio and television broadcasts/websites
  • The weather line (call 503.636.8140)

If the information on the university website and the weather line has not been updated, the university is open and classes are being held.

Generally, when classes are cancelled, the website and the weather line will be updated:

  • By 6 am for day classes
  • By 4 pm for evening classes

Surprise storms may result in later announcements. Check before you leave your home or workplace.

As always, use your best judgment. Do not attempt to travel when your personal safety is at risk.

Campus offices

When classes are cancelled, staff are asked to report to work when they may do so safely. If you need services of a university office, call first to ensure staff is available to help you.
