Marylhurst University Holds on to #1 Rank for Small Class Size in U.S. News & World Report

Marylhurst University ranked #1 in Oregon for classes under 20 students in the 2004 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Guide, America's Best Colleges. This is the second year in a row that Marylhurst received this position in the æBest Universities Master's' category, placing it among the top 60 universities in the 15-state Western region.

Ninety-five percent of Marylhurst's classes qualify for this category. Class size data is measured on two components. The first represents the proportion of classes with fewer than 20 students, the second is the proportion with 50 or more students.

The Best Universities Master's division includes institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate and master's programs. Within this category, there were 573 universities ranked in four geographic regions. Schools are evaluated by mission and up to 15 indicators of academic excellence. Key criteria was gathered from 94 percent of the schools returning surveys.
