Alumni Read at Peregrine Literary Series

Marylhurst alumni Marie Buckley and Catherine McGuire will read at the Holy Names Heritage Center on Sunday, October 20, at 7 p.m. as part of the Peregrine Literary Series.

Interdisciplinary studies alum Marie Buckley, a past president of the Oregon Poetry Association, will read from Quartet: Four Poetic Voices. Buckley has been a teacher in the Oregon public schools and is currently an adjunct instructor at Portland Community College.

Art therapy counseling alum Catherine McGuire will offer selections from her most recent collection of poetry, Palimpsests. She has published poetry in a variety of journals, two self-published chapbooks, and two children's books. One of her poems, Instants, was published in the 2006 issue of M Review.

The program is hosted by Joan Maiers, author and faculty member in the Department of English.

Free and open to the public. Canned good donations will be collected for the Oregon Food Bank.
