For a third consecutive year, Marylhurst University has been named one of the top
military friendly schools in the nation.
In an annual list released by G.I. Jobs, Marylhurst has once again been recognized
as one of just 20 percent of colleges and universities in the country that embrace
America's service members and veterans as students.
Marylhurst earned high marks for offering flexible class schedules, a military scholarship
and veterans support.
Marylhurst University, a private liberal arts university 10 miles south of Portland,
Ore. on Highway 43, is regionally accredited and nationally recognized for innovation
and academic excellence in serving adult learners. More than 1,900 students earn degrees
on campus and online. Marylhurst offers 20 undergraduate degrees, 9 graduate degrees
and 13 professional certificates, all of which integrate the liberal arts with professional
studies to prepare students as interdisciplinary thinkers and ethical leaders.
Dr. Susan Carter, interim chair of the MA in Interdisciplinary Studies Department, was named vice president of the Pacific Northwest Region of the American Academy of Religion / Society of Biblical Literature in May 2013.

Faculty Receive Innovation Grants
Marylhurst faculty received "excellence and innovation" grants supporting work in business, interior design, art, sustainability and music therapy.
