We give thanks for Sister Veronica Ann Baxter (1928-2014), remembered for her innovative leadership of Marylhurst from 1974 to 1984, when the university transitioned to a co-educational college of lifelong learning.
The Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce welcomes David McNamee, interim chair of Marylhurst's graduate and undergraduate business departments, to their board of directors effective October 1, 2012.
McNamee will be representing Marylhurst University, one of the top five employers in Lake Oswego. As a member of the board, he will contribute to the chamber's strategic direction and policies.
McNamee will continue in his current role, as chair of the chamber's education committee, which organizes the Forums on Real Growth and Education monthly luncheon series, the annual FORGE Marketing Summit, the Leadership Lake Oswego program and a new event for 2013, the Chamber Small Business Fair.
