Dr. Petra Kern, music therapy faculty, published a book on music therapy and autism spectrum disorder in October and is presenting at conferences worldwide.
Dr. Kern co-edited, with Marcia Humpel, Early Childhood Music Therapy and Autism Spectrum Disorder: Developing Potential in Young Children and Their Families (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, London).
In 2012, she gave presentations and led workshops at the Early Childhood Music and Movement 2012 International Convention in Green Lake, Wisconsin; American Music Therapy Association Annual Conference in Charles, Illinois; and Mozart & Science 2012: Music in medicine and therapy in Krems, Austria.
Dr. Susan Carter, interim chair of the MA in Interdisciplinary Studies Department, was named vice president of the Pacific Northwest Region of the American Academy of Religion / Society of Biblical Literature in May 2013.
