Linda Dove Directs New Ministry, Food Pantry

Interdisciplinary studies alum Linda Dove has been named director of Bethlehem: House of Bread, a pathway ministry of Tigard United Methodist Church.

Bethlehem: House of Bread, located in the former Metzger Methodist Church, aims to invite "those who are hungry in body or spirit to a table where all are welcome." The ministry has a community garden and will open a food pantry on November 24, 2013.

Plans for additional programs include a school backpack program, classes in gardening, cooking, nutrition and exercise, as well as workshops on the root causes of poverty and how to help individuals escape poverty.

Linda Dove earned a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Marylhurst University. She is also director of Christian education and spiritual formation at Tigard United Methodist Church.
