Dr. Sean Gillon, food systems & society faculty, co-authored an article titled Plausible Futures of a Social-Ecological System: Yahara Watershed, Wisconsin, USA in the peer-reviewed, international journal Ecology & Society in May 2015.
Blake Shell, the Robert and Mercedes Eichholz Director and Curator of The Art Gym and Belluschi Pavilion, talked about her perspective on contemporary art in the Northwest on KBOO's Art Focus in January 2014.
Joseph Gallivan of KBOO radio asked Shell about her vision for future of The Art Gym.
"A lot of things are a continuation of what The Art Gym has been doing ... having retrospectives, mid-career shows, showing experimental work ... thinking about different process of art-making," Shell said.
While The Art Gym will continue its focus on established and emerging artists from the Northwest, Shell said she hoped to occasionally bring in national artists, and possibly international artists, to exhibit alongside Northwest artists, creating a dialogue between local artists and those outside the region.
Blake Shell is the Eichholz Director and Curator of The Art Gym and Belluschi Pavilion. Prior to joining Marylhurst University, she was director of the Archer Gallery at Clark College. Before that, she directed two galleries at the University of Arizona, where she also taught gallery management and photography.
