Rev. Jennifer J. Yocum Named PastorExcerpt from an article in The Forest Grove News-Times, March 26, 2008. The Rev. Jennifer J. Yocum will be installed as the new pastor of worship and administration at the Forest Grove United Church of Christ on Sunday, April 6, 2008. The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in the church, 2032 College Way. Yocum, 43, will be the third woman clergy member to lead the church in its 163-year history. She will serve as co-pastor with the Rev. Angela Horton-Gapay, pastor for youth and family ministries. The former interim pastor of the First Congregational Church in Bellingham, Wash., Yocum worked as a journalist, music teacher, corporate consultant and university instructor before entering the ministry. She holds a bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Portland, a masters degree in public administration from Lewis and Clark College and a masters degree in applied theology from Marylhurst University. She earned her master of divinity degree at San Francisco Theological Seminary. | |||||||
