Will Hornyak Featured in Spoken Word SeriesExcerpt from an article in The Hillsboro Argus, September 11, 2009. Storyteller Will Hornyak will bring his program The Myth of the White Stag: The Hunt for Identity, Place and Community to the Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center for September's edition of the Spoken Word series. The free program will be in the upstairs gallery of the Arts Center in Hillsboro on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. Hornyak believes that each indivdual's personal stories are tied in with the oldest myths of human ancestors. The story of the White Stag is a legend about how the Magyar people found their homeland. Hornyak teaches storytelling at Marylhurst University and performs throughout the Northwest. His performances weave together original material with a variety of myths, fables, legends, tall tales and fairytales from oral traditions around the world. | |||||||
