First Year

  • Explorations of line, plane and mass using wire, balsa wood, cardboard and loofah sponge
  • Research of performance spaces including the relationship between the audience and performers, lighting, acoustics and scale
  • A gallery for Type & Fonts in the BSide6 Building

Second Year

  • A performance space for the music department in the boiler building on Marylhurst's campus
  • A sustainability center in John Yeon's iconic Visitor Center Pavilion
  • A design-build pop-up teahouse

Third Year

  • A hotel in downtown Portland
  • A naturopathic clinic in the Pearl District
  • A cultural identity center in Pioneer Square

Fourth Year Student-Initiated Thesis Projects

  • Haven: A medically-safe home-like birthing center for families
  • A First-Grade Resource: Rotating curriculum-driven pods for multi-modal learning
  • Nourish: Food, tools & information for people with dietary restrictions
  • Building self-confidence: A workshop & recovery center for homeless men
  • Ocularcentrism: A resource center for the sight impaired
  • An exploration of nakedness: A community bath
  • Reducing recidivism: A more humane prison
  • Community building: A workplace for creative entrepreneurs
  • An exploration of food anxiety: A community-supported kitchen & distribution center
  • Special needs: A school for autistic children
  • An exploration of team-building: A rock climbing gym
  • Creating trust: A center for children transitioning to foster care
  • Restoring dignity: A center for women with cancer
  • Learning from nature: A high-tech biophilic office
  • Industry & nature: A center for wine making
