Duke Ellington - Sacred Concerts

Second in a three-part series

The Marylhurst music ensembles team up to perform selections from the Sacred Concerts by jazz master Duke Ellington.

Ellington wrote three Sacred Concerts: 1965 - A Concert of Sacred Music; 1968 - Second Sacred Concert; 1973 - Third Sacred Concert. Written during the last ten years of his life, Duke Ellington called these concerts "the most important thing I have ever done."

Marylhurst groups performing include:

  • Jazz Ensemble
  • Marylhurst Chorale
  • Choral Union

  • Mainstream from Clackamas Community College

General Admission: $10.00
Seniors and Students: $5.00
