Art Therapy Preparatory Track

Applicants to Marylhurst's MA in Art Therapy Counseling program must meet several requirements, including a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 27 credits in art, 18 credits in psychology and 5 credits in art therapy.

BA in Art Requirements:

Preparatory Art Therapy Counseling Track

Minimum of 180 total quarter credits
104 credits for the Preparatory Art Therapy Counseling Track

Art Courses (81 crs.)

Including at least
9 crs. in painting, 9 crs. in life drawing and 9 crs. in sculpture

Psychology Courses (18 crs.)

Personality Theory
Abnormal Psychology
Developmental Psychology
Counseling Theories & Strategies: Level One
and 6 crs. of general psychology

Art Therapy Courses (5 crs.)

Introduction to Art Therapy Workshop
plus four additional 1-cr. art therapy workshops
