David Denny Presents at PAMLA Conference
Dr. David Denny, chair of the culture and media department, presented a paper at the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association Conference in October 2012.
The American studies courses are designed to examine the histories and cultures existing within the United States and/or Latin America.
Courses may address the historical and cultural emergence of specific groups such as African-American, Asian-American, Latino-American, Native-American, or Arab-American.
Strong emphasis will be placed on literature, film, music, history and philosophy, especially the way in which these cultural forms challenge, contest, and subvert the dominant hegemonic ideology.
