Meg Roland Presents at Medieval Studies Conference
Dr. Meg Roland, chair of the English literature & writing department, will discuss blogging about medieval topics at the International Congress on Medieval Studies in May 2013.

The Department of English Literature & Writing presents events throughout the year that are free and open to the public. We bring a mix of emerging and nationally acclaimed writers, artists and scholars to share their love of language and unique insights into contemporary culture.
Our premier event series is the Marylhurst Reading Series, which brings prominent writers to campus throughout the year to share their work and engage with our community.
One of our more recent, notable guests was author David Shields. You can watch a digital recording of the event on our YouTube channel.
We also welcome young writers and artists to campus each summer through show:tell, the Workshop for Teen Writers and Artists.
This year we also offer a study abroad opportunity. From September 6-20, 2013, Meg Roland, chair of the Department of English Literature and Writing, leads a study tour to Rome, exploring the literature and art of the Eternal City.
Each November, Marylhurst sponsors DigiWriMo, a month-long writing challenge. Participants in Digital Writing Month (www.digiwrimo.com) are encouraged to write 50,000 words throughout November.
