In her master's thesis, Erica Wells examined the relationship between fictional literature and aging, in an effort to explore the various meanings of old age. Her particular interests in gerontology center around issues of personal aging, including embodiment, social expectations and roles, and intergenerational relationships. She has taught at Marylhurst since 2004.
