Jim Davis' areas of expertise are gerontology, social/community psychology and public policy. He is the chair of the National Coalition for Consumer Organizations and is president of the Oregon Consumer League. Other professional associations include Oregon State Council for Retired Citizens, United Seniors of Oregon, Oregon Alliance for Retired Americans, Parkinson's Resources of Oregon and the National Council on Aging.
At Marylhurst, Jim is the vice chair of the University Faculty Council and co-chair of the Diversity Committee and the Fund for Faculty Excellence & Innovation Committee. He serves as faculty adviser to the Marylhurst Gerontology Association and the Marylhurst Psychology Association. Other committees include Faculty Principals & Policy Committee, Faculty Development Committee and Adjunct Faculty Committee. He is the university's liaison to Mary's Woods.
