Department of Human Sciences

All of us are shaped by the world around us, and by how we develop, learn and deal with the complexity of our journey through life. The study of the human sciences explores more deeply how society impacts our lives, and what it means to be a human being in an ever-changing world.

Our graduates often go on to work in the helping professions such as human services, counseling, social work and education.

The department, led by nationally prominent gerontology scholar Jennifer Sasser, provides rigorous and highly personalized courses of learning that allow you to fully explore human studies, psychology, sociology, anthropology and gerontology.
