Faculty Receive Innovation Grants
Marylhurst faculty received "excellence and innovation" grants supporting work in business, interior design, art, sustainability and music therapy.
The Department of Music at Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon, offers a range of music degrees, programs and courses for the major and non-major alike. Our program offers a unique combination of traditional music studies and highly personalized attention to students. With small classes, a rigorous curriculum and well-respected faculty, we work with each student to develop his or her own unique musical talents.
Music has been a vibrant part of the Marylhurst education experience since the university's founding in 1893. In 1961, the Department of Music became an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, making it the oldest continuously active member in the culturally rich, Portland, Oregon, region.
Whether through our two professional programs in music therapy and composition, our BA in Music degree program, or our community outreaches such as Suzuki lessons for children, Community Orchestra and Choral Union, our music department is committed to promoting musical artistry and excellence while serving our local community.
