Department of Religious Studies

The Department of Religious Studies explores the study of God, scripture, and the longing to understand the Divine Mystery across world's wisdom traditions. Questions of healing, meaning, purpose and the good are addressed.

In Marylhurst's religious studies programs, you grow in knowledge of self, others and the Holy – defining images of the Divine, practice of spirituality and commitment to service.

Careers in Religious Studies

An increasing number of institutions are bringing spirituality into the workplace and seeking ethicists, counselors and consultants. As a result, graduates of the religious studies programs enjoy a variety of opportunities in religious education ministry, business, psychology, international law, women studies and domestic violence programs. The undergraduate program additionally prepares you to pursue graduate degrees.
