About

Following his degree, George Miller began work with the National Weather Service (at that time the Weather Bureau) where he spent 35 years as a meteorologist in Medford, Oregon, Denver, Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah before returning to Portland as Area Manager/Meteorologist in Charge in 1981.

He has authored several papers on Pacific Northwest weather events and is currently investigating historical weather events in Washington and Oregon while volunteering with the Oregon Historical Society. He has published two books: Pacific Northwest Weather and Lewis & Clark's Northwest Journey: Weather Disagreeable.

Mr. Miller takes weather observations daily from his home in Gresham, Oregon.
