About

As a math instructor, JoDee Phillips has heard many students state they lost interest in mathematics when they studied algebra in high school. It is her opinion that there is more to mathematics than using a calculator and memorizing formulas, and she hopes to deepen her students' understanding of mathematics by encouraging them to invoke critical thinking of mathematical concepts and attempts to instill a deep understanding of "real-world mathematics" by posing questions that not only address the question of 'what?' but 'why?' and 'how?'
