Tony Bernal has taught in the department of Communication Studies since 1997. He is Director of Funding and Public Policy at a Portland nonprofit agency working to end homelessness. He received his BA from San Francisco State University in Liberal Studies, his MA in Rhetoric and Communication from the University of California at Davis, and he pursued doctoral studies in Speech Communication at the University of Texas at Austin.
