On July 19, 2015, the Marylhurst community will gather to celebrate the life of Dr. Duane Gehlsen who taught anthropology in the Department of Human Sciences until his recent, unexpected passing.
If you plan to apply to Marylhurst's Master of Arts in Art Therapy Counseling program, you must meet several requirements, including earning a bachelor's degree that includes a minimum 27 credits in art and 18 credits in psychology.
You may meet those admission requirements by incorporating the following classes into your B.A. in Psychology program:
Studio Art Courses (27 crs. minimum)
Painting, 9 crs.
Drawing, 9 crs.
Sculpture, 9 crs.
Art Therapy Courses (5 crs.)
Introduction to Art Therapy Workshop
plus four additional 1-credit art therapy workshops
Successful candidacy to a graduate program in art therapy counseling may require additional courses or more advanced preparation. Interested students are encouraged to consult with their adviser as soon as possible.
