Workplace effectiveness revolves around being good at all the "little things." Whether it's how to run a good meeting, have a difficult conversation with a challenging employee, or finessing a tough client situation, the best employees have a range of skills necessary for success. Add to the list negotiation and conflict management skills, the art of finding win-win solutions and avoiding unproductive disagreements. Prior to this one-day class, you will complete an online Thomas-Killman Conflict Mode assessment to understand your own relationship with conflict. Then in class, learn a variety of approaches to negotiating successfully, focusing on reaching true collaboration where both parties come away winners. The class includes ample time for skill practice so that you will leave the session with experience leading successful negotiations of all kinds.

Paul Spindel is a seasoned HR executive with companies like Marriott and Nike, who for the last decade has devoted his professional life to consulting and teaching on group process issues. Paul is passionate about speaking ones truth in the workplace, helping you align your values and decisions so that you're pointed to your "true north." He is expert in motivating people to perform better, and has a range of strategies for dealing with difficult people and situations managers must take on. When he's not pushing himself to climb Mt. Hood or ride in Cycle Oregon, Paul leads workshops that help people with career transitions and creating the lives they want most.
