Literacy Instruction for English Language Learners
Elaine is an improvement instruction and English language learner consultant for the Clackamas Educational Service District. She provides professional development and school improvement support for the 10 school districts in the Clackamas ESD region.
Elaine previously served as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education at Willamette University, as a K-6 bilingual program teacher, and as a K-12 teacher on special assignment offering professional development on English language learning, bilingual education, and language acquisition and culture, and coordinating parent involvement in the Hispanic community.
She is a certified trainer in English language learner programs and instructional methodologies, and spent a number of years teaching both English and Portuguese in Brazil.
