Several faculty members from the Department of Education presented a session on culturally responsive teaching at the Oregon Leadership Network's Spring Leadership Institute in April 2014.

The Foundations of Emergent and Early Literacy
Margaret Leonard is currently an early childhood and parent educator for the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. She has worked with students from 12 months of age to Elderhostel students.
She earned a master's degree in teaching from Lewis and Clark College and an undergraduate degree in natural resources from the University of Michigan.
In addition to early childhood learning and development, her professional interests include place- and community-based education and writing with students of all ages.
