Berry Huelsman has been teaching at Marylhurst University since 1978. Over the years he has taught courses in economics, finance, Myers-Briggs, mathematics, and adult communication. He has also taught some courses online – statistics, international finance.
Before semi-retiring, Huelsman taught full time at The Art Institute of Portland. There, he taught mathematics, freshman seminar, physics, and introduction to business.
Berry was a mathematician in the United States Air Force for a dozen years, He has also been a stockbroker/financial analyst in Portland, specializing in gold, oil, international, and high tech issues. He has used that background to teach finance, economics and international finance at Marylhurst. He has also taught mathematics part time at George Fox University, Clackamas Community College, and Mt. Hood Community College.
He pursued a master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Marylhurst. His field of concentration was organizational communications. For his master's thesis, he wrote on mathematics anxiety.
