eileen schmidt

Eileen Schmidt, MA in Teaching

"I've always wanted to be a teacher so in my late 40s I made a purposeful decision to attend Marylhurst. I currently work for an alternative education program where we have a high percentage of students of color, of low socioeconomic status, who have not fared well in the traditional educational system. Every day I am thankful for what I learned about teaching through Marylhurst's focus on equity and excellence in education."

serena duckrow

Serena Duckrow, MA in Art Therapy Counseling

"With top-notch instructors who truly care about the well-being of the students, hands-on internship experience, and creative, fun and intelligent peers, choosing to attend Marylhurst University helped me to achieve my dreams. Immediately after graduation I was able to find full-time employment as a rehabilitation therapist in California."
