Alumni Association

The purpose of the Marylhurst Alumni Association is to encourage affiliations between all alumni and the University. The Alumni Association supports the mission of Marylhurst and seeks to create opportunities for enhancing the intellectual, spiritual, social and professional relationships of its members.

During Homecoming Week, Marylhurst University hosts a variety of events to encourage its 9,000 alumni and the community to visit the campus and experience Marylhurst through its outstanding programs. These programs include: Interior Design Reception with Speaker, Alumni Art Gala & Sale, Art Gym Exhibit with Artist Speaker, Distinguished Alumni Awards Luncheon, Alumni Reunion Dinner, Dessert & Silent Auction Reception, Celebratory Mass and other evening speakers.

Homecoming Week 2009 is scheduled for October 13-18. We hope you can join us! Sponsorship opportunities are available. Sponsors receive special recognition in all promotional materials.

2008-09 Accomplishments

  • Contributed to a successful 2008 Alumni Homecoming Week through the Distinguished Alumni Awards Luncheon, Silent Auction, Reunion Dinner, Celebration Brunch, and the Alumni Art Gala & Sale. Approximately 2,200 people attended 26 events, including eight seminars held throughout the week and President Judith Johansen's inauguration.

  • Organized a silent auction and Wall of Wine fundraiser which raised $5,500, as part of Homecoming and the Distinguished Alumni Awards Luncheon.

  • Awarded two undergraduate scholarships totaling $4,075.

  • Awarded $1,500 in support of the Alumni Mentor Program. Additionally, several Board members are serving or have served as mentors this year.

  • Continued the development of the Alumni Ambassadors program for campus and community outreach in support of University programs.

  • Helped to develop a package of alumni banking benefits through West Coast Bank.
