Art therapy counseling alum Elsbeth Knott will present Art Therapy for a Traumatized Adolescent with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the American Art Therapy Association's national conference in July 2015.
One of the goals of the Marylhurst University Alumni Association is to "create opportunities for enhancing the intellectual, spiritual, social and professional relationships of its members" — there are many opportunities for alumni to do just that.
Events on campus
We encourage alumni to attend cultural events on campus, such the Summer on the Green series* (includes Shakespeare in the Park performances and summer concerts), Marylhurst Reading series,* fundraising events such as Marylhurst's Annual Dinner and Golf Classic, and the myriad cultural and educational events that occur throughout the year.

Reunion Weekend 2013
October 24-26, 2014
Join Marylhurst during its annual alumni celebration! 2014 recognizes classes ending in '4' and '9' and honors distinguished alumni. A special congratulations goes to the classes of 1954 (60-year anniversary), 1964 (50-year anniversary) and 1989 (25-year anniversary)!
Social media & online meet-ups
Marylhurst has several online platforms alumni can participate in to connect with alumni and the university on a professional and social level.
Marylhurst alumni are knowledgeable in a wide variety of fields. Do you want to share what you know or learn about a variety of topics from experienced alumni at no cost? Attend or view an alumni talk or get involved as a volunteer speaker. Online presentation capabilities are available. Interested? Contact Kelly Ann Chee in Alumni Relations.
A-MAIS-ing Voices Salon Conversation Series
As part of the MAIS program's 20th anniversary year-long celebration, these gatherings - part "teach-in" and part salon conversation - highlight the great work of some of Marylhurst's MAIS alumni and how they have applied their Marylhurst graduate studies in their life and work.

Matter of Balance Classes
Eight weekly sessions - a spring session may be starting soon
Classes are free and open to alumni, faculty, staff, students and residents of Mary's Woods. Space is limited
Sessions led by Debra Giannini, MA (BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, '09)
Space is limited. RSVP with Debra Giannini at firstname.lastname@example.org or 503.358.9088 or with Traci Varela, Marylhurst Human Resources Department, at email@example.com or calling 503.699.6256.
Class Description: Marylhurst University, in tandem with Debra Giannini '09 and Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU), will be offering Matter of Balance Classes(TM). Classes are specially designed for those 55 years of age or above, to people with a history of falling, or who are taking medications that can affect their balance. The curriculum includes simple exercises and a cognitive/behavioral approach to adapting to physical spaces and the age-related changes to sensory input and our physical bodies. If this class fills quickly, or reaches capacity with more wanting the opportunity, we will seek to offer another class for Spring.
Traveling faculty meet-ups
Our faculty often travel to give presentations at conferences across the country. Faculty meet-ups allow alumni to connect with each other, and also to connect with Marylhurst leaders in the academic field.
Do you live far away from campus but are still interested in meeting up with alumni in your area? Let us know, and we can help gather contact information for alumni in your area and reach out to them. Although there are no formal chapters at this time, regular meet-ups are encouraged!
We want to provide networking opportunities and events that are valuable and enjoyable for our alumni, and the best way we can do that is to ask. Which kinds of events interest you? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 503.534.4059.
