The Art & Interior Design Department at Marylhurst University
The Art & Interior Design Department provides students with solid training applicable to a wide range of careers in the visual and design arts.
The department recognizes the richness of diversity among students and welcomes those attending full time for professional training and those who wish to take a class or two to acquire a basic appreciation of art.
A faculty comprised of practicing professional artists, architects and designers ensures that a Marylhurst education is directly related to contemporary practice outside the classroom.

The Art Gym
The Art Gym hosts a highly respected program of exhibitions of contemporary art from the Pacific Northwest. Since it was founded almost 30 years ago, The Art Gym has shown the works of more than 500 artists and published 50+ exhibition catalogs. Writing in The Oregonian, D.K. Row said:
The Art Gym at Marylhurst University has provided an incredible public service by documenting the significant trends and artists in the Northwest art scene. It's a museum-level task that the spunky Art Gym has handled better than the blockbuster-producing Portland Art Museum.
