Art Cooperative Program
Art majors interested in film and media arts can arrange for credit for approved coursework offered by the Northwest Film Center of Portland, Oregon.
Coursework offered by the Northwest Film Center (NWFC) in its certificate program in film may be taken for credit through Marylhurst University to be utilized in art degree programs. NWFC courses are generally offered in a semester format with variable credits. To receive cooperative credit for NWFC courses through Marylhurst, students must:
- apply and register for classes through NWFC and
- register for cooperative credit through the Marylhurst University Registrar's Office.
The Northwest Film Center certificate program in film prepares self-directed individuals for careers in media arts and independent filmmaking. The curriculum in film, aesthetics, production and business offers an opportunity to develop basic hands-on skills, a portfolio (reel) of work and professional contacts in the field while focusing on media aesthetics, one's personal vision and the critical elements of fund-raising and distribution.
