Dennis Nyback Open HouseMay 07, 2008Wednesday, 5 pm Dennis Nyback will host an Open House celebrating his new partnership with Marylhurst University. Refreshments will be served and films will be shown. Among the films is Que Viva Mexico, the Sergei Eisenstein feature shot in 1932 but not completed until after his death. Nyback's print is in the original Russian with Danish subtitles and is a film of striking beauty. Poet Walt Curtis will read a poem to celebrate the Nyback-Marylhurst partnership. This summer Nyback teaches the Marylhurst course, Social History Through Animation. He and his wife Anne Richardson will also curate the Marylhurst Sesquicentennial Film Festival, showcasing Oregon films from the silent era to the present. The festival takes place at Marylhurst from May 1-10, 2009. Information will be available at the Open House. | |||||||
