SPECIAL FREE TALK: Open to Marylhurst students and faculty, alums, and interested people on campus.

Doug De Hart will offer a talk about salmon and the Columbia River. Doug is a member of the Marylhurst Science faculty and former Chief of Fisheries for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. He will share information on a topic that he has been personally involved with: The Future of Salmon in the Columbia River.

Doug has been involved in management and conservation of salmon in the Columbia River for over 30 years and has been associated with the Science and Mathematics Program at Marylhurst for more than 10 years. He will share information on the present status of salmon in the Columbia River drainage as well as his views on the likely course of present and possible future conservation and restoration efforts. Columbia River salmon have been one of the most intensively studied conservation issues within our region and well over a billion dollars have been invested in their protection and recovery. Where will this great initiative take us?
