Internship Program
Internships are designed to expand the depth and breadth of learning for students in their particular areas of study. An internship is an opportunity for a student to receive credit for the application of theories learned in the classroom to specific experiences in the community. A successful internship can also give a student valuable information in making decisions about the direction of future studies or employment.
The Marylhurst University internship program is committed to meeting the following objectives:
- Internships will be a new and significant learning opportunity for all students;
- Internships will be related to the student's individual degree and integrate previous learning with new life experience; and
- New learning through internships will be accomplished in an acceptable site and supported by appropriate supervision.
If you have specific questions about the Internship Program at Marylhurst University, please contact Kirsten-Gauthier Newbury, Internship Coordinator and Instructor.
Required Orientation
You must attend an Internship Orientation prior to beginning your internship.
It is recommended that you complete the orientation at least one term prior to the term you plan to complete your internship. This allows you time to plan ahead and select a suitable internship site.
The internship orientation is offered in person once each term. You also have the option of completing the Online Internship Orientation at your convenience.
