Ready to Graduate from Marylhurst?

Graduation refers to having your degree or certificate conferred and posted on your official transcript. You must apply for graduation by submitting our graduation application even if you do not plan to attend the commencement ceremony. Your diploma or certificate will be mailed to you. Diplomas are not given out at the commencement ceremony.

Congratulations, you’re nearing the finish line! Please read the following information carefully, note deadlines, and plan ahead with your adviser to ensure a smooth process.

Apply for the term when you will complete all your requirements, regardless of when you will walk in the commencement ceremony. Your application must be signed by your adviser before it is submitted.

Applications are due to the Office of the Registrar on or before the deadline at 5 p.m.

After You Apply to Graduate

At the end of your graduation term, the Office of the Registrar will review your graduation audit to verify that you have satisfied all requirements. If all requirements are satisfied on time, your degree or certificate conferral date will be the last date of the term for which you applied to graduate, and we will mail your diploma to the address indicated on your graduation application.

Diplomas are generally mailed six-to-eight weeks following the end of the term. Diplomas are not given out at the commencement ceremony.

Please note that we cannot issue your diploma if you have an outstanding balance with the student accounts office, an overdue library book, or a library fine.

Completion of Requirements for Graduation

Just as a heads up – Evidence of the completion of all degree requirements (e.g., official test scores, official transcripts for transfer credit, final grades for incomplete and in progress courses, credits by examination, or other credits from outside sources) must be received by the Office of the Registrar within 21 calendar days of the last day of the term in which you have applied to graduate. If you have not fulfilled degree requirements by this date, you will need to re-apply for graduation for a subsequent term.

Annual Commencement Ceremony

Each year in June, Marylhurst celebrates those students who completed their degrees with our annual commencement ceremony and related celebrations.
