The English Literature & Writing Department at Marylhurst University

As an English major, you are afforded the time to study literature, to write, surrounded by like-minded individuals and thoughtful mentors. Together with professors and peers, you will explore how language and images affect us as individuals and as members of communities.

English Literature and Writing students participate in a core curriculum which focuses on interpretation and creativity. You can choose from concentrations that emphasize different aspects of literary studies, including:

As a student you will discover a broad-based and critical understanding of literature topics. Delve into the history of literature in the English language. Enjoy in-depth discussion and insight into the imaginative processes that are the basis of all writing. Classes are offered both online and on Marylhurst University’s historic, beautiful campus. A fully online degree option will be available January 2013
