Jackie Mosier Emerging Writer Award

The Jackie Mosier Emerging Writer Award is awarded each spring to a student of junior-level standing in memory of student and creative writer, Jackie Mosier, class of 2008.

The award is presented to a student who shows promise and dedication as a creative writer and who also engages in a generous participation in the English Literature & Writing community.

The award recipient is chosen by the creative writing faculty. The recipient is recognized each spring and receives a $1,000 tuition credit the following fall term. The recipient also has the opportunity for an individual conference with a selected author as part of the following year’s Binford Reading Series and to read a selection from his or her work as part of that author’s Binford Reading.

A plaque with each year’s recipient is displayed in B.P. John Administration building.

The Jackie Mosier Emerging Writer Award has been made possible by the generosity of John Mosier and the family of Jackie Mosier.
