Teaching at Marylhurst

Marylhurst University serves students who want to be actively engaged in their learning. Programs are constructed and taught with the intention of assisting students in becoming learners who embrace knowledge and skill competencies as well as the process of continual change.

Marylhurst strives to educate students:

  • who think creatively about solving problems;
  • who can direct change in responsible and thoughtful ways;
  • who understand how to choose between complex options and make effective decisions;
  • and who can distinguish among value-centered philosophies.

Successful Marylhurst instructors are recognized leaders in their areas of expertise, demonstrated through their academic credentials and their professional experiences. Many programs call on practitioner faculty who bring relevant, tested knowledge from the "real world" to the classroom. They are passionate about their work and have a desire to share what they have learned with dedicated students.

If you think an adjunct faculty position may be right for you, contact the department for which you are qualified to teach. If there is a current need for instructors, the department chair will discuss with you the requirements for the position. Typically, you will be asked to submit a vitae, supporting documentation and references. Once everything is received and reviewed, you may be invited for an interview. A classroom teaching demonstration may also be required as part of the assessment process.

Marylhurst University is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified persons will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability or sexual orientation.
