Human Studies Core CoursesThe Human Studies bachelor's degree program centers upon six core courses. These classes explore a range of perspectives on the relationships that affect human behavior. Human Studies Perspectives Provides an interdisciplinary foundation in literature and philosophy and examines relationships with the self, others, the environment and the transcendent. Relationship with Self Examines views of "self" from a variety of perspectives to increase awareness and understanding of human development over the life course. Relationship with Others Enhances awareness of social interaction and its influence on perception, attitudes, interactions and behavior. Relationship with the Environment Examines how humans relate to the social, physical and natural environments. Relationship with the Transcendent Explores dimensions of humans' spiritual relationships from psychological, developmental and religious perspectives. Humans Being: Developing a Perspective Considers the facets of human nature and human existence through a collaborative process. | |||||||
