Preparatory Art Therapy Concentration

Applicants to Marylhurst’s MA in Art Therapy Counseling program must meet several requirements, including a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 27 credits in art and 18 credits in psychology.

The Preparatory Art Therapy Counseling undegraduate program is designed to meet one or more of these requirements.

BA in INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES
Minimum of 180 total quarter credits
Minimum of 62 credits required for major
Core Courses 6 crs.
Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies
Methods of Interdisciplinary Inquiry
Concentrated Study 50 crs.
Art Courses min. of 27 crs.
At least 9 crs. in each of the following:
Drawing
Painting
Sculpture
Psychology Courses 18 crs.
Personality Theory
Abnormal Psychology
Developmental Psychology
Counseling Theories & Strategies: Level One
and 6 crs. of Psychology electives
Art Therapy Courses 5 crs.
Introduction to Art Therapy Workshop
Art Therapy: Media & Methods
plus three additional 1-cr. Art Therapy workshops
Senior Project 6 crs.
Senior Project Proposal
Internship or Service Project
Senior Paper Seminar
Interdisciplinary Studies Portfolio
