Credit By ExaminationMarylhurst offers credit to students through the following testing programs:
These standardized tests are administered and scored in accordance with uniform guidelines. Policies1. Up to 45 quarter credits received through standardized examinations (CLEP, DANTES, NYUFLP and Excelsior) may be applied to bachelors degree programs at Marylhurst University. Distribution of the credits within the degree plan is determined by the academic advisor in consultation with the student. 2. Credit received by examination will not be awarded if the content:
3. A "P" for PASS or "NC" for NO CREDIT grade is assigned to examinations. 4. Credit by examination does not count toward Marylhurst's 45-credit graduation residency requirement. 5. Credit earned by examination at other accredited colleges and universities may be transferred through transcripts to Marylhurst according to the above guidelines. However, scores must meet Marylhurst's current minimum passing levels in order for the credit to be accepted. 6. All scores for credit by examination must be received by Marylhurst one term prior to graduation. Because it takes several weeks for results to be sent from testing agencies, students must complete all standardized testing at least two terms prior to graduation. Although students may take examinations prior to or after coming to Marylhurst, the University will not accept the amount of credit indicated until after admission as a degree student. After degree admission, students should consult with their academic advisors prior to taking any standardized tests to determine the appropriateness of the credit in their degree programs. The signature of the student's academic advisor is required for these exams. Credit by examination is generally not recommended for students who have already earned over 90 credits. | |||||||
