Six Ways to Earn Credit

Students may earn credit toward a bachelor's degree by documenting knowledge gained through life experience.

1. Prior Learning Assessment

In Prior Learning Assessment, students document life experience learning with a portfolio presentation. Credit requests are evaluated by experts in the area of study.

As many as 45 PLA credits may be earned toward a bachelor’s degree.

2. Credit by Examination

Students verify mastery of a subject through recognized testing programs including DANTES, CLEP and NYU Foreign Language Proficiency testing.
