MA in Interdisciplinary StudiesA rich, relevant education that extends outside the bounds of a single academic discipline that is the beauty of the Marylhurst Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS). MAIS students explore areas of study without the confinement of typical discipline-bound graduate programs. Students may opt to follow a concentrated area of professional study: gerontology, organizational communication or spiritual traditions and ethics. Students may choose the liberal arts concentration, selecting from all MAIS seminars, to meet personal and professional goals. The MAIS program is comprised of an intellectual, supportive community of teachers and learners. The academic environment is highly interactive, with an average class size of 10 to 15 students. Marylhurst students lead busy lives. To accommodate students many responsibilities, most MAIS courses are held weeknights, with occasional afternoon offerings. Career PathsCritical thinking skills, strong writing ability and analytical talents are in demand in every organization. MAIS graduates are uniquely positioned to pursue careers in corporations, educational institutions and service agencies. They may continue on to doctoral studies, open new businesses or advance in their current workplaces. | |||||||
