February 2003 Peace March

by Margie Doolan

WAR; what is it good for? If war is the answer, we're asking the wrong question. War is "a process that makes the victor stupid and vanquished malicious."[1] If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention.

There is no path to peace--peace is the path. War is so 20th century. War is a dick thing, peace is a heart thing. War is expensive, peace is priceless. Anything war can do, peace can do better. Bombing for peace is like screwing for virginity. Make love, not war.

Oh, say, can you cease? "An eye for an eye will only leave the world blind" [2]

"War is a violent response to complexity by simple minds." [3] We have guided missiles and misguided men. Smart bombs don't justify dumb leaders. Smart weapons, dumb president. Drop Bush, not bombs. Who's the UNELECTED Tyrant with the bomb?

Killing innocent people is the problem, not the solution! War is the legalized slaughter of virile youth by jealous old people."[4] Rich man's war--poor man's blood.

It's the oil, stupid. How did our oil get under their soil? More MPGs, less MIAs. Make alternative energy not war. Go solar, not ballistic. How many lives per gallon?

Born to kill, born to drill.

A Village in Texas has lost its idiot. The only thing we have to fear is Bush himself. Buck Fush! Stop Mad Cowboy Disease. The last time we listened to a Bush, we wandered in the desert for 40 years.

Relax, George, peace takes brains. Negotiation not annihilation.

Another patriot for peace. Who would Jesus bomb? God does not bless only America. What if God blesses Iraq? Justice or Just Us?

Has anyone seen our constitution lately? Say can you see my democracy? One nation under surveillance. Let's try preemptive peace. Evolve! Get to work for a non-violent future. "A small group can change the world. In fact, that is all that ever has."[5]
