OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
& ANNOUNCING THE 3rd ANNUAL WRITING COMPETITION*
DEADLINE:
Both General Submissions and Contest Submissions accepted from October 1st, 2006 to January 26th, 2007.
SUBMISSION Guidelines:
Prose & Commentary: limit of one entry per category, no more than 4000 words per entry, submit in html or Word format; include a cover letter (see below) with your submission.
Poetry: limit of five poems per author, submit in html or word document format. If submitting multiple poetic works, submit all poems in one document (html or Word); include a cover letter (see below) with your submission.
Visual Art & Photography: Limit of three submissions per artist in .JPG or .GIF format. Include a cover letter (see below) with your submission.
COVER LETTER: All submissions require a cover letter (on its own page) with the title, word count, and submission category. Include author name, contact information, and a short (3-4 sentence) biography. The title should appear on all manuscript pages, author's name should appear only on the cover letter.
All entries will be considered for publication and contest, if applicable. Marylhurst University faculty is invited to submit works for publication consideration, but will not be eligible for the contest.
All works should be previously unpublished.
Authors and artists retain all rights to works accepted for publication.
CATEGORIES FOR SUBMISSION INCLUDE:
POETRY*, SHORT FICTION*, CREATIVE NON-FICTION*,
SOCIAL COMMENTARY & SATIRE, VISUAL ART & PHOTOGRAPHY.
All submissions must be received by January 26th, 2007 to be considered for the 2007 edition of M Review.
*The winning entry in the poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction categories will receive a $50 cash prize.
