The Music Department
at Marylhurst University
Known for its unique combination of traditional music studies and nurture of individual students, the Marylhurst University Music Department offers a broad range of programs and courses for the major and non-major alike. With small classes and well-respected faculty, the Music Department seeks to work with each student to develop their own unique musical talents.
Music has been a vibrant aspect of Marylhurst education since the schools founding in 1893. In 1961 the Music Department became an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, making it the oldest continuously active member in the culturally rich Portland region.
Whether through our unique music therapy and pedagogy programs, our programs in performance, composition and liberal arts, or Suzuki lessons for children, the Marylhurst Department of Music is committed to promoting musical artistry and excellence while serving the local community.
