Admission Requirements
Bachelor of Music in Composition
Marylhurst welcomes prospective composition students at various stages in their musical development. While the admissions process into the composition program is selective, it is not competitive. Applicants who demonstrate the potential to succeed in the program are admitted.
Admission Requirements
In addition to meeting the University's general admission requirements, applicants must:
- complete a performance audition,
- submit a composition portfolio and
- submit a completed application.
General Admission Requirements
Students Without Portfolios
Students who do not have a composition portfolio are invited to apply for admission into the BA in Music program. Once students have acquired a portfolio from the first year of study, they may apply for admission to the composition program.
