Professional Activities

Anna Rapp teaches violin and viola at Marylhurst University. Her students range in age from 4 to 18, and she also teaches adults for non-college credit.

She is certified with the Suzuki Association of the Americas to teach books 1 - 6 of the Suzuki books. She has been teaching at Marylhurst University since 1997, and has taught all 10 books of the Suzuki literature and other major violin/viola repertoire pieces from the extension literature of Barbara Barber.

Rapp is principal violist of the Marylhurst Symphony Orchestra.

Teachers

Rapp studied with David Schneider, then principal second violin at the San Francisco Symphony, and pursued post-bachelor work with Carol Sindell at Portland State University.

Her continuing education includes studies with Barbara Barber, Linda Fiore, Judy Bossuat, Mihoko Hirata and Ed Sprunger, among others.

Other

Rapp is fluent in English, Japanese, German, French and Spanish.
